The third weekend we were here in January, Hannah, Chloe, Lauren and I, went shopping in downtown Franklin with Clara Henningsen! We were so excited to hit all the cool and unusual shops ...especially the cute (although definitely not so unusual ) Starbucks coffee shop! We all got a hot coffee and headed down the street, very content and happy on such a beautiful day.
We had so much fun going in and out of all the amazing downtown shops. I would say one of our favorites was a store called the Iron Gate. It had an amazing array of different things from beautiful beds and mirrors to cute little Nick-knacks, wonderfully scented soaps. Hannah and I found some absolutely, lovely smelling, Rose-scented soap from Paris! We each bought some because it was too nice to leave behind! Everything in the store was sort of a modern, vintage style. For Lauren and Clara, the highlight of our time in that store was as we were leaving, they noticed that a famous man named Robert Plant, was in the store as well! They were totally intrigued and proceeded to go up to meet him and introduce themselves. The rest of us had never heard of him before so it was not as big of deal. Very exciting for them though! They got to meet a celebrity!
On that note, on our way back to our car, someone walked by us and excitedly whispered, "Hey! Carrie Underwood is in Starbucks!" We all turned to look and sure enough, out she walked from the very Starbucks we had been in, with some sort of drink. Wow, now Lauren and Clara were really excited! Two celebrities in one day...!
The rest of our day we continued browsing all the interesting shops and stopped to have a "late lunch/early dinner" at a cute restaurant called Puckett's Grocery. We all got some good southern food and everything was so delicious!! We were all starving after our hours of walking around and shopping.
On our way home, we stopped at a Thrift Store and Target, then hurried home to were Rashida was celebrating her thirteenth birthday party with a sleep-over in the Campbell's basement. We had bought her a cute red purse and pretty earrings to match!
What a fun day- I'd love to go back to the downtown area again. There are still some stores left to explore!
